Air Quality Report 8/28/2014

Deception Complex Smoke Report (prepared by John Cook and Tod Johnson, Air Resource Advisors)
The Deception Fire grew by 886 acres yesterday on the northeast end of the fire.  Smoke from the fire lifted over Hwy 58 reaching as far as Bend. The smoke settled early this morning. Expect smoke to increase through the morning to Unhealthy Levels for Sensitive Groups and remain through early afternoon.  Visibility will continue to be reduced along HWY 58 and the Willamette River draingage.
Anticipate similar smoke conditions around Oakridge through the evening hours and into tomorrow morning. Weekend air quality conditions are expected to remain poor with decreasing temperatures and poor dispersion reducing smoke movement away from the fire.
