Residents of the Deception Creek Mobile Park and LaDuke/Harbour Roads remain on level 2 evacuation notice.

Middlefork District Office August 27, 2014 at 5:15
Cooler evening temperatures moderate fire behavior on the main fires within Deception Creek and it has been a busy evening in Oakridge and Westfir. Crews have successfully attacked spot fires in the Deception Creek Mobile Park, the compound of the Middle Fork Ranger District and on LaDuke/Harbour Roads.

The fire weather forecast for tomorrow, while calling for slighter cooler temperatures and higher humidity’s is not significantly different from today’s in terms of expected fire behavior. Crews remain on the ready to suppress fires as necessary. This evening, crews and equipment from Oregon Department of Forestry, Lane County, the City of Oakridge and the Willamette National Forest all responded to the emerging situation in Westfir. Residents of the Deception Creek Mobile Park and LaDuke/Harbour Roads remain on level 2 evacuation notice.

We will continue to use the twitter feed @willametteNF and inciweb for updates. Our fire info phone is working again as the Ranger District office has allowed employees back in – that number is 541.782.5359.
